Treatment One of seven
Contouring, Volume & Wrinkles
For expression lines and loss of facial support through the forehead, brow, mid-face, jawline, chin and temples.
Overview
Repeated expression gradually etches fine lines across the forehead, between the brows and at the outer corners of the eyes. They begin as movement and, over years, become established — still visible when the face is completely at rest.
Separately, and usually at the same time, the face loses volume and support. Bone, fat pads and connective tissue all change with age, and as they do the jawline softens, the cheeks flatten, the temples and under eye region hollow, and the folds between the nose and mouth deepen.
Most people arrive with some of both, in different proportions. Working out which is doing more, and where, is what the assessment is for — treating a line when the underlying change is structural, or the reverse, is how a face ends up looking altered rather than rested.
Concerns commonly assessed
- Fine lines and established wrinkles of the forehead, brow and outer eye area
- Loss of definition through the jawline and chin
- Volume loss, flattening or descent of the cheeks
- Hollowing of the temples and under eye region
- Deepening folds around the nose and mouth
- General facial asymmetry and imbalance
Your consultation
Your appointment begins with a full facial assessment and a review of your medical history, current medications and previous treatments. Mia will discuss your concerns and priorities, then explain which options may be appropriate for you, what each involves, the associated risks and possible side effects, the expected recovery, and the realistic limits of what can be achieved for your face.
No treatment proceeds on the day of assessment without a clear understanding of these factors.
Outcomes
The objective is a rested, balanced and proportionate appearance consistent with your own features. Outcomes differ between individuals according to age, skin condition, facial structure and medical history. A consultation with Mia is required to determine suitability.
